Ella is bullied at school and treated harshly by her mother at home. After being mistreated by her classmates, a classmate named Lucas comes to her aid. However, her mother misunderstands the situation as early love, which leads to even more severe treatment at home. During the entrance exam for Harvard University, under her mother's pressure, Ella's health deteriorates, and she turns in her exam paper early. However, she actually scored a perfect score, which was kept confidential. At the parent-teacher conference, her mother, mistakenly thinking Ella was not accepted, publicly humiliates her. In her despair, Ella attempts to jump off a building, but she survives. She decides to separate from her mother and live her own life. Over time, her mother begins to regret her approach to Ella's upbringing.
