After losing a dare, Rae, in the dead of winter, prank-calls Hugo, claiming she is fallen into Star Lake. Hugo and her family rush to the scene. That night, Rae's clueless parents and brother drown in the lake, while an exhausted Hugo barely makes it back to shore.
