Seven years ago, Dashiell and Lachlan built Axis Protocol—a game with no fixed master, no fixed submissive, and ninety-eight rounds ending in a perfect tie. On the eve of the hundredth, Dashiell disappeared without a word. Now he’s back, summoned by a threat: their former mentor Gideon is auctioning the Protocol as a behavior-prediction system, with Lachlan’s club Parallax on the demo list. Dashiell brings half a chip and a request—finish the final round. Over thirty days, they agree to ten formal sessions, each scored and witnessed. Belt, blindfold, tie, and whip become tools not of domination, but of negotiation. Every command must be earned. Every surrender must be chosen. But as the contract deepens, the real battle is not about who yields—it’s about who dares to stay. One round remains. This time, the only rule is truth.
