On his way home for Spring Festival, Jason plans to exit the highway due to a snowstorm and a road closure. Just then, he receives a call for help from his first love, Lily, and rushes to pick her up. Meanwhile, Cherie and Joel are involved in a car accident—Cherie dies, and Joel is left in a coma. Jason mistakenly believes Cherie is faking illness to manipulate him and becomes solely focused on taking Lily and her pet dog to the vet. Ignoring hospital rules and others' pleas, he even interfered with the emergency treatment for Joel, who was critically injured in the crash. It isn't until Jason sees Joel lying in the hospital bed that he learns the truth about Cherie's death. Overwhelmed with regret, he blames Lily and drives her away.
