Filled with guilt, she forged a new covenant with him, desperately caring for him for three years, even risking her life to venture into Heaven's forbidden zones to find the wing-restoring potion for him. But she eventually discovered that Frederick's wings had already been restored, and his so-called sacrifice was a lie from the beginning. He had been feigning a broken wing to make her feel guilty and prevent her from disturbing Camila and the children of Heaven. Camila not only stole her original partner but also orchestrated Frederick's "salvation," even using the potion she risked her life to obtain to solidify her own blessing. Completely heartbroken, Aileen signed the covenant's dissolution document, choosing to have her name erased from Heaven's archives. After she disappeared, Frederick frantically searched for her, until he encountered the renamed and transformed Sophia at the Sanctuary of the Free Angels. His pursuit spiraled out of control, culminating in his kidnapping of her to force her to renew the Holy Pact, which in turn exposed Camila's conspiracy once more. In the end, Camila was stripped of her false sainthood and banished from Heaven; Frederick was exiled to the border, never to return; while the reborn Sophia and Ronan completed a new Holy Pact, she donating all her past pain and gifts of atonement, making them her own from that moment on.
