Annie Smith is fluent in eight languages, yet she spends three years working as a junior translator at a trading company, earning only $24,000 a year. She hides her true abilities on purpose. But during a critical international negotiation, a mistake by her team leader nearly destroys the entire project. Forced into a corner, Annie finally speaks up in German and turns the situation around. Her hidden talent is unexpectedly exposed, bringing both workplace suppression and new opportunities. Through an antique left behind by her father and a letter he wrote to her, Annie finds the courage to face her past. Along the way, she also finds love.
